The late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will be appearing at the Billboard Awards in hologram form.

Confirmation of a performance from an animated Jackson has come via legal action initiated by Hologram USA Inc. and Musion Das Hologram Ltd who claim that it would violate their hologram patents. 

Hologram USA Inc. and Musion Das Hologram Ltd were responsible for bringing deceased rapper Tupac Shakur back to life for a holographic appearance at Coachella in 2012.

The awards ceremony takes place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena tonight (May 18) and an attorney from Michael Jackson’s estate has told Fox News that trying to prevent the performance from going ahead would be futile.

Howard Weitzman said in an email to Fox: “The court's decision is not surprising. The request to stop this extraordinary Michael Jackson event was ludicrous.”

Fans can expect to see Michael Jackson performing the track ‘Slave To The Rhythm’ which is taken from his latest posthumous album ‘Xscape’.

‘Xscape’ debuted at No. 1 in the mid-week charts and will be announced later today whether Michael Jackson has achieved another chart-topping album.
