Coldplay not touring 'Ghost Stories' album: 'We can't afford to'

Brit rockers Coldplay have confirmed that they won't be putting on a full tour for their new album 'Ghost Stories' because it's simply far too expensive.

The group unveiled the highly anticipated record on May 19 and frontman Chris Martin has now revealed that they can't afford to go on the road in support of it because it costs too much money:

"We're not touring, no, not for this album. It is difficult."

Martin went onto add that expenses for a big tour are incredible, so they have decided not to go down that route where promotion is concerned: "We'd like to have toured, but it is too expensive and it costs a lot of money to build, so we couldn't have afforded to go."

Martin, meanwhile, recently admitted to America's Ryan Seacrest that the band's new album feels as though it has been a long time in the making and when asked how long in years, explained that "in some ways, over 30 years, and in other ways, about two."
