Bastille: 'We're not interested in working with big-name producers right now'

'Bad Blood' hitmakers Bastille have revealed that they don't have any current goals to work with a big-name producer because they're still trying to make their sound something that is solely theirs.

The band, who performed at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow recently, admitted to Digital Spy that they have no plans to recruit a big-name producer to work with them at the moment because they want their sound to stay their own and to not be defined by an outsider coming in specifically for one project:

"I think it's really important to us that we do it all ourselves. I think that's what makes our music a bit different from other people's. We've always been a tight-knit group. In terms of the next album, we haven't changed it up at all. I think it would be really fun work with big producers, but it's not something that interests us at the moment."

The band's singer, Dan Smith, added the band is currently focusing on making a mixtape: "We're working on a new mixtape at the minute, which allows us to collaborate with different producers and artists - so that's a nice outlet outside of the album stuff."

Back in January of this year, Bastille confessed that touring has interfered with finishing a sophomore album: "If we weren't touring so much we'd probably have finished the album by now. I've never wanted our music to be one thing. I guess we make things when we feel like it."
