Taylor Momsen shares with Pressparty her career beginnings and 'hottest female' award

Taylor Momsen believes that being signed to a modelling agency at just two years old has helped mould her strong work ethic.

The Pretty Reckless star's parents made the singer join up with Ford Models at an early age and she later appeared in a Shake 'n Bake advert aged three.

However, Momsen - who entered TV and film before settling on music - told Pressparty that she feels her early start in life has helped her adapt to life on the road in a band. She said: "I think that starting work at such a young age gave me the work ethic that I have now. I lived a gypsy lifestyle and I got to travel so much, so it made the transition to touring a little easier."

The 'Going To Hell' star meanwhile is nominated for the Hottest Female prize at this year's Kerrang! Awards and when asked if she is pleased about the nod - or conversely frustrated about it potentially detracting from the music - she said:

"I'm not frustrated…but is there a hottest male award too? It's nice to be recognised for your work, but you're recognised for your work every night when you play a show and there's people there singing along. I think awards are for sports, not music. But I appreciate it."

The Pretty Reckless released their second album 'Going To Hell' earlier this year and they are due to play the Isle of Wight and Download festivals in June.
