Coldplay: 'We've never been really cool or fashionable'

'Magic' hitmakers Coldplay have revealed that they're so grateful for the opportunities they've been given throughout their great collective career because they're well aware that their band isn't the 'coolest' to like.

The band's frontman admitted that he doesn't really care about public opinion because it's been a longstanding view that his group isn't really 'cool' or 'fashionable': "We have never been the coolest thing or the most fashionable thing. Well, maybe for a period. It just feels like we're able to keep rolling and no-one really notices."

"I feel like every day we're given is a real blessing. I could not have asked for a more dreamy job. If we're in that place in ten years, that's amazing. But if we're not, that's OK."

The band's new album, entitled 'Ghost Stories', has just been confirmed as the UK's fastest-selling record of 2014, although it has slipped from the top spot to sit at No.2 today as the midweek chart was announced.
