Lady Gaga touched by fans' support after falling ill

Lady Gaga has thanked her fans after she was forced into cancelling two tour dates because of illness.

As previously reported, the US star pulled ARTPOP Ball shows in Seattle and Vancouver this week because of "severe bronchitis".

She is expected to make a full recovery soon, but fans managed to get the phrase '#GetWellSoonGaga' trending on Twitter.

This touched the 'Applause' singer, who took to the social networking website to say:

"Thank you monsters for the #GetWellSoonGaga that was so thoughtful and sweet, you really care. I love you marry me."

Gaga later added that she has been spilling out her thoughts and feelings in the form of poetry. She said:

"Miss you monsters. Been writing a lot of poetry. It's so hard to write sometimes, I'm afraid of what I'll read."

The next date on Gaga's tour meanwhile is due to take place on June 2 in California.

Her two postponed shows have been moved to August.
