Rihanna responds to nudity criticism from TLC

Rihanna has hit back at criticism from members of R&B girl group TLC.

TLC’s Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas made their views on Rihanna’s image known during an interview with Australia’s Sunrise 7 show.

T-Boz said of Rihanna: “Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked.”

She went on: “It's hard for us to say anything because anytime we do, they say, 'Oh TLC must be jealous,' but I call a spade a spade.”

The ‘No Scrubs’ singer explained: “We became the biggest-selling girl group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot. We could go around too with booby cakes out all day long.”

In response to their critique, Rihanna temporarily changed the background image of her Twitter page to a topless photo of TLC (see image above left).

The ‘Pour It Up’ singer then tweeted a picture of herself sticking her tongue out with the caption:

“When there's no changing the fact that I'm me, and they're well… they're them.”

It was revealed earlier this week that a promotional image for Rihanna’s lastest fragrance was deemed unsuitable for children by the Advertising Standards Authority.
