5SOS cancel Portugal and Copenhagen tour support slots with One Direction

Australian heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer have been playing in support of One Direction on the band's Where We Are tour for a few weeks now, but they confirmed some cancellations of upcoming dates earlier this afternoon (June 11).

While the lads didn't given a specific reason for the unexpected cancellation, they issued a statement and offered their sincere apologies for pulling out and disappointing fans:

"Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our support sets on the 1D Tour for Copenhagen on June 16th/17th and Porto on July 13th :( McBusted are now going to be playing in Copenhagen and D.A.M.A will be opening in Porto, so it’s still going to be a wicked bunch of shows! We are really sad we can’t make it and are very sorry to any of our fans who were looking forward to seeing us… We really hope to be able to come back to perform and see you all very soon! We love you. - Ash, Mikey, Cal & Luke x."

The band's guitarist, Michael Clifford, took to his official Twitter page after the news was shared and posted a message to his followers promising the band will try to return soon: "We're so so sorry that we can't support at the Copenhagen shows and Porto shows. We promise we're going to be back there soon we love you."
