Foo Fighters are to play in South Africa for the first time.

The band will play two dates in the country in December as they visit the region for the first time in their 20 year career.

The first gig will take place at the Cape Town Stadium on December 10.

The US group will then head to Johannesburg's FNB Stadium on December 13. Kaiser Chiefs and BLK JKS are lined up to support on boths shows.

Foo Fighters meanwhile are busy working on a new album, which is expected to land later this year.

Their last record came in the shape of 2011's 'Wasting Light'.
