Olly Murs has taken to Twitter to reflect on his career as he celebrates the five year anniversary of his X Factor audition.

The singer sang in front of the judges five years today (June 25) and he has enjoyed a hugely successful time since the show.

The Brit has released three studio albums as well as presenting ITV2's Xtra Factor.

Speaking on Twitter, Murs said: "Never forget 25th June! Thanks @SimonCowell @TheXFactor for my chance back in 2009! So crazy what has happened!!

"Most importantly all you lot the fans for your continued love,support & cheekiness!Never forget that! None of this is possible without you!x."

The singer then posted a link to his audition, which saw Murs perform Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'.
