Harry Styles might keep song written with Kodaline for solo venture

Kodaline have been opening up about their time spent writing music with One Direction’s Harry Styles.

Talking about how the band ended up working with the ‘Midnight Memories’ singer, Kodaline frontman Steve Garrigan revealed that it happened by chance.

Steve told Digital Spy: “It was really strange how they came about… He just turned up to a show, and he likes our music. We had a bit of free time and so we went to the studio and wrote a song. It was good fun.”

Whether the tune Kodaline wrote alongside Styles will end up on a new One Direction album is currently unclear as the band stated: “There are hundreds of songs flying around.”

Garrigan hinted that Harry may be keeping the material earmarked for himself, saying:

“It could be on his album if he does something, but I don't know. Nothing is set in stone.”

The Irish band have previously been highly complementary of Harry Styles’ musicianship by calling him “a really good writer.”
