5 Seconds of Summer star Luke Hemmings believes the band's first album is a unique sound within the mainstream music scene.

The band recently unleashed their self-titled debut record and it looks set to hit No.1 across the globe.

Speaking to The Showbiz 411 during a promotional superhero themed abseil recently in London, singer Luke Hemmings said that the Australians are proud of their album.

He added: "It's very different to everything that's out there."

The record brings pop-punk flavours to the mainstream and the group regularly state that they are different to acts like One Direction.

5 Seconds of Summer have been supporting Harry Styles and co. on tour this year and they are currently in Europe.
