Kiesza on writing for other music stars: 'Rihanna recorded two or three of my songs'

'Hideaway' songstress Kiesza has confessed that she has been writing material for other artists and Bajan beauty Rihanna is the most recent sensation to record a couple of her original songs.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the rising Canadian star explained that songwriting is consistently surprising because the tracks other artists select to record often aren't the ones she expects them to choose:

"So far people have been recording a lot of the music, Rihanna recorded two or three of my songs. Whether they will end up on the album, I don't know."

"When I started I did the whole writing for an artist, but I've stopped doing that. I think it takes away from my writing. The one that Rihanna has cut is one that I never in a million years expected her to pick out, so it was super interesting. It just shows that people want to evolve and try new things."

Kiesza's next single, 'Giant In My Heart', is due to be released later this summer in August and her 'Hideaway EP' is available now.
