Ed Sheeran shifts over 1 million copies of 'x' worldwide

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that his brand new sophomore album, 'x', has already shifted over 1 million copies after just two weeks of being on sale.

Writing on his official Twitter page much earlier today (July 8), the 'Sing' superstar explained that he has enjoyed amazing sales figures so far and can't believe how successful the record has been.

He admitted that he's grateful to every fan who purchased a copy: "Happy to say X has sold a million copies worldwide in 2 weeks. great start to a campaign, thanks to everyone who's grabbed a copy xx."

Back in June, the album went to No.1 in 65 countries around the world, and it has already become the UK's fastest selling album of the year so far. On October 9, Sheeran will unveil his first ever book, which is called 'Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey', and he recently described the project as 'very exciting'.
