One Direction's Liam Payne got fans all hot and bothered at the weekend with an apparently naked photo.

The singer took to Instagram on Sunday (July 27) to post a picture of himself on a boat seemingly nude with his genitals pixelated out.

He said: "Damn that was my last pair."

The image was liked by over half a million users, but they were left disappointed when Payne uploaded the same image of himself unpixelated wearing underwear.

The singer quipped: "Oh I found them never mind aha."

One Direction meanwhile are enjoying some time off before hitting the road again on their Where We Are world tour.

They will play stadiums in North America from August 1.
