Nile Rodgers has been confirmed to perform at a special Ryder Cup concert in Scotland.

The iconic golf tournament is taking place this year at Gleneagles over 23-28 September and the event will be launched with a gig at the Hydro in Glasgow on September 24.

Chic man Rodgers will take to the stage at the event and he will perform with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for part of the slot.

Promoter Geoff Ellis commented: "It's a long-time career ambition of mine to work with Nile Rodgers and he brings star quality to the show. This concert is about so much more than one act, it's all about the collaborations and presentation - I can't wait to see it all come to life when September rolls around."

Other acts due to perform at the gig include Nina Nesbitt, Jake Bugg and Twin Atlantic.
