Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande and Soundgarden will be on hand to launch this year's NFL season.

The trio of acts will perform in and around the CenturyLink Field stadium in Seattle on September 4.

They will help kick off the regular NFL season as defending champions Seattle Seahawks take on the Green Bay Packers.

Williams and local rockers Soundgarden will perform at a free event outside the stadium before Grande sings the US national anthem on the pitch.

The event will air on the NBC and the NFL Network.
