X Factor UK to be aired in the US

The upcoming series of the X Factor UK will be shown in the US.

The programme - which has never been aired in the States - will feature on Ryan Seacrest's network AXS TV.

The series is due to kick off in the UK on August 30 and those in the US will be able to watch the first episode on August 31.

Syco Entertainment's George Levendis commented: "The X Factor UK is our flagship production and the world leader in entertainment formats. The show's production values are unmatched and it has created enormous buzz across the US social media over the last few years. This is the first time we are bringing the UK series to a US broadcaster. We are excited that fans of The X Factor will be able to follow the development of these future stars on AXS TV."

This year's X Factor series is hotly anticipated due to the return of Cheryl and Simon Cowell, with Mel B also joining up.
