Singer and songwriter Chris Martin, of Coldplay fame, has revealed that he would love for Bajan beauty Rihanna to record one of his songs for her next offering. 

During a recent interview with New York’s Fresh 102.7 FM, the frontman explained that he has been writing music for projects outside of Coldplay and teased that he hopes Rihanna might express an interest in one of the songs although he didn't write them with her specifically in mind:

“I wasn’t necessarily with [Rihanna in the studio], I was working for her. I don’t think she even asked, I just said, ‘please can I try something?’ Sometimes as a break from Coldplay stuff I love to go and work on other music. It kind of gives you fresh angles and new ideas.”

When asked if one of his songs i likely to make Rihanna's new album, the 'Magic' hitmaker confessed that he's unsure because there's so much competition out there at he moment:

“I don’t know. She has so many amazing people writing for her. It’s like trying to win ‘American Idol,’ getting a song on Rihanna’s album. It’s hard. Everybody wants to write songs for her.”
