Cody Simpson on Justin Bieber project: 'It's a smack bang duets album'

Singer Cody Simpson has admitted that his recent collaborative work with Justin Bieber will take the form of a duets record.

Speaking to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, the star confessed that he will be releasing the collaborative album later this year and it has been an exciting project to work on:

"It is a smack bang duets (album). Justin has been a good mate of mine for a while. It's just us writing. He told me he felt like I'd figured myself out and have grown into what he knows I will be, so he was like, 'I see you as that guitarist, singer-songwriter you've always wanted to be'. I play all the guitars on the album."

Earlier this month at the Teen Choice Awards, the Australian heartthrob revealed that he has written over 10 songs with the Canadian superstar, telling reporters:

"We’ve been doing a bunch of music over the past month or two. He just called me up and said, ‘Hey man, I’ve been seeing your Instagram videos of you playing guitar.’… I was just stoked. He said, ‘Let’s get in the studio.’ We got in that night and we ended up writing 10 or 12 songs, I was playing guitar. You’ll be hearing stuff in about two months."
