A rep for Kim Kardashian has dismissed suggestion that she refused to sit next to Rita Ora at the MTV VMAs.

The ceremony took place in Los Angeles on August 24 and recent gossip said that Kardashian changed seats after learning that she would be sat next to Ora.

The 'Hot Right Now' singer used to date her brother Rob, but they endured a messy break-up in 2012 when Kardashian claimed Ora cheated on him with multiple men.

However, a rep for Kim Kardashian told the Mirror that any stories of the US beauty swapping seats are untrue.

They said: "She sat in the seat she was assigned. The tickets were issued days prior. The item is false."

Ora meanwhile performed at the event alongside 'Black Widow' collaborator Iggy Azalea.
