Kate Bush warned her house is in danger of falling into the sea

Kate Bush has been told by her local council that her cliff-side house could eventually fall into the sea.

The singer bought a five-bedroom home in Devon for a reported £2.5m in 2005.

It overlooks the sea and Devon County Council warned the iconic singer that the ground underneath the building could crumble into the water over time.

Her neighbours' house is inches away from an 88ft drop after a landslide last year and council official Steve Gardner told the Express & Echo:

"If you live there you can either accept it and let your house fall into the sea, or you can take action to prevent further damage, although that can cost hundreds of thousands.

"You can attach netting to the cliff face, or another option is spraying it with concrete, although these are very expensive and not something the council would pay for."

Bush's house is located in East Portlemouth in South Devon.

In 2011, the singer - who is currently performing a residency in London after 35 years away from the live circuit - installed high-security fencing after a fan broke into her compound.
