FKA Twigs installed as favourite to win Mercury Prize

FKA Twigs has become the favourite to win this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize.

The nominees for the prize were revealed on Wednesday (September 10) and the likes of Royal Blood, Damon Albarn and Jungle were included.

William Hill confirmed today (September 11) that FKA Twigs' 'LP1' is the 3/1 favourite to win the award, which will be presented on October 29 at London's Roundhouse.

The betting company added that Kate Tempest's 'Everybody Down' is second favourite with odds of 4/1, with Royal Blood's self-titled record at 8/1.

Damon Albarn and East India Youth are next in the list of favourites, with GoGo Penguin and Polar Bear at the bottom of the list.

The winner of the 2014 Mercury Prize, which celebrates the best British album of the past year, will be handed £20,000.

Last year's winner was James Blake's 'Overgrown'.
