Ed Sheeran on headlining concerts: 'There's less pressure when people come to see you'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that he feels less pressure when he plays a headlining show than when he's on a bill with other leading acts because people are there to see him, rather than to be impressed by someone they're not familiar with.

During a new interview with Nightline, the superstar admitted that he feels at ease in front of his own audience because he knows they're there solely because of him:

"I don’t really think there’s pressure when people have come to see you because they want to be entertained. They’re not expecting to be impressed. They come to be like, ‘We like your music, play it for us,’ rather than, ‘We’ve never heard of you, show us what you can do.’”

Sheeran went onto reveal some great advice given to him by Taylor Swift, Coldplay's Chris Martin and Pharrell Williams: “The same thing Taylor said to me was the same thing Pharrell said, same thing Chris Martin said, is just the same thing: Constant humility, constant evolution and be a sponge, soak up your influences."
