Power cut at Kate Bush concert causes huge delay to schedule

Music icon Kate Bush is due to perform a concert tonight (September 26) at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, but a power cut has so far halted the show

The 'Wuthering Heights' legend fell victim to a lack of electrical power in the venue and now the gig is experiencing a huge delay.

Many fans in the audience have been venting their frustrations on Twitter and one concert-goer named Neil Rockett wrote: "Still no sign of #katebush. Please don't cancel. We can't wait another 35 years (seriously, most of the audience can't)."

After much restlessness from the audience, an announcement was made over the PA saying: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have some good news. We have a new start time for the show of 9:05pm. We want you to see the full performance but this means a finish time of 12-12:10am."

Another fan posted a message that suggests people aren't happy with the post-midnight finish time so are having to leave early and miss part of the show: "#katebush will start shortly, running past midnight. Poor sods leaving now for their refunds."

However, almost all of the audience stayed behind as, having waited decades, an additional hour was neither here nor there.

Many people appear to be irked by the solution to the late finish time and another Twitter user explained: "#katebush delayed til 9, won't finish til 12.10 BUT only people who leave b4 9.45 get refunds. So we'll see half the show but no refund." Someone else added: "@EventimApollo @KateBushMusic I'm so so disappointed. I have waited so long and now I'm going to miss most of it so I can bloody get home."

When Bush made her stage entrance she was greater with an intense applause. During the show she said that the atmosphere was so electric that it didn't matter about the power cut.

True to her word, the entire show took place without a second cut off, and everyone left happy in the end.
