50 Cent: 'I want to be remembered for my philanthropy'

Rapper 50 Cent has a new TV show called 'Dream School' and he has revealed that he hopes it will help people to think of him as a philanthropist rather than a music star.

During a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the 'In Da Club' hitmaker admitted that it's important to him to continue his charity work and wants that to be what people associate with his career:

"I started assessing my legacy and how I want people to remember me. Not as a guy who made a couple of cool songs or picked a couple of good roles in film and television, but more as someone who helped others the most."

The programme, which will see professionals from the top of their fields attempt to reach problem students, will premiere this autumn and he went on to add that he hopes the show will inspire the people who are on it:

"When the students get a chance to see people that are in a position that they can aspire to who have had similar tough situations in front of them, then they don't make excuses for not being successful and can identify with them."

He added: "They look at the content you create that is aimed at the dysfunctional behaviour in the communities you grew up in and they know you know. It's an opportunity to utilise your celebrity in the right way."
