Slipknot announce UK and Ireland tour

Slipknot have confirmed a series of UK and Ireland tour dates.

The US metallers will play a number of arena shows in the countries in January alongside support act Korn.

The run, entitled the Prepare For Hell Tour, will kick off Dublin on January 14.

There will be dates in cities such as Glasgow, Liverpool and London before things are concluded in Birmingham on January 27.

The tour will come in support of the Slipknot's upcoming album '.5: The Gray Chapter', which will be released on October 20.

Singer Corey Taylor commented: "The UK has always been very special for us.  In a lot of ways, it's where this insanity began.  So, for this tour, we decided to try and hit as many places as we could - not only England, but Scotland and Wales as well.  Technically Ireland is Europe, but we're going there too.  We're coming back for the people who started this for us: that would be YOU.  Prepare yourselves...Hell is coming."

Tickets for the gigs will go on sale from 9am UK time on Friday (October 17). The full schedule is as follows:

  • Thu 22nd Jan - Liverpool - Echo Arena
  • Fri 23rd Jan - London - The SSE Arena, Wembley
  • Sat 24th Jan - Cardiff - Motorpoint Arena
  • Mon 26th Jan - Nottingham - Capital FM Arena
  • Tue 27th Jan - Birmingham - Barclaycard Arena
