Neil Diamond has confirmed a batch of UK tour dates due to take place next year.

The veteran musician will head to the country in July as part of a wider European tour.

The first UK date will take place at Glasgow's Hydro arena on July 7, with gigs in Manchester, Birmingham and London following.

The run will come in support of Diamond's upcoming new album 'Melody Road', which will be released on October 20.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale from 9am UK time on Friday (October 17). The full European schedule is as follows:

• June 19 - Munich, Olympiahalle
• June 21 - Antwerp, Sport Paleis
• June 23 - Paris, Zenith
• June 25 - Amsterdam, Ziggo Dome
• June 30 - Belfast, Odyssey Arena
• July 03 - Dublin, 3Arena
• July 07 - Glasgow, SSE Hydro
• July 09 - Manchester, Phones4U Arena
• July 11 - Birmingham, LG Arena
• July 14 - London, O2 Arena
