Petition to rename Bronx street after Jennifer Lopez gathers momentum online

A petition to rename a street in the Bronx after Jennifer Lopez has surfaced online

The online campaign to have 'Jennifer Lopez Way' instated in the district was set up by a JLo superfan named Edgardo Luis Rivera because the superstar grew up in the Castle Hill area of the neighbourhood, so the honour would recognise her roots.

Rivera wants a section of Blackrock Avenue, which is near her childhood home, to be renamed after her and so far the petition has gathered around 1,400 signatures. He explained:

"She's an inspiration to so many Bronxites. Throughout her career, she's made a point of telling people she's from the Bronx. I like that she's never forgotten where she came from."

Earlier this week, JLo told Britain's The Mirror newspaper that she's really happy being single at the moment and is thoroughly enjoying her 'alone time':

"My friends are constantly trying to set me up but I'm just not there right now. It's not something that's a priority. I have gone from relationship to relationship but, at the end of the day, I am not ashamed of the path I have taken or the lessons I have learned. I am who I am and I am human. I do what feels right in the moment."
