Meghan Trainor battles to keep her No.1 position on the UK singles chart

Songstress Meghan Trainor is facing tough competition on the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart this afternoon (October 22) as her No.1 single 'All About That Bass' is being challenged for the top spot by Waze & Odyssey’s remix of R Kelly’s 'Bump & Grind'.

'All About That Bass' is currently still in the lead, but Waze & Odyssey are just 3,000 copies behind with their new entry at No.2 in today's midweek update.

If Trainor's catchy debut single maintains its No.1 position until Sunday when the chart places are confirmed it will be her fourth week at the top spot, and it'll match Clean Bandit's achievement of the longest running chart-topper of the year, which they secured with their single 'Rather Be'.

Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' has climbed one place to sit at No.3, 'Bang Bang' by Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Jessie J is at 4, and Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' has dropped to No.5.

Taylor Swift has another single in the UK Top 40 this afternoon with 'Welcome To New York', which is from her forthcoming new album '1989', and the track has made an appearance at No.28. Maroon 5's 'Animals' has debuted at No.37.
