5SOS's Ashton Irwin overwhelmed after the Madden brothers perform 'Amnesia' live

Good Charlotte's Madden brothers wrote a track named 'Amnesia' for the 5 Seconds Of Summer lads, which features on the Australian heartthrobs' debut studio album, and they performed a cover of it over the weekend at their own concert down under.

During their show at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on November 1, Benji and Joel Madden treated gig goers to a rendition of 'Amnesia' and before launching into the ballad, they told the crowd:

"If you know the words, which I actually think will be the loudest song of the night, sing along with us, OK? We f**king love those guys!"

Following the concert, 5SOS's drummer Ashton Irwin took to his official Twitter page (November 2) and described watching them perform that particular track as being such a 'special' experience: "Last night was so special, went to see my dudes the @Maddenbrothers and they played our song 'Amnesia'... I'll remember it for life, wow."

Back in July, Irwin opened up about recording a song written by the Good Charlotte stars and explained that they looked up to them growing up so it was a dream come true: "We sort of met them through mutual friends and I guess we're really lucky... it's amazing to be able to work with them. We were looking for the right acoustic song to put on the album. We wanted something special and we heard that song for the first time... it was a big deal for us."
