The Rolling Stones cancel show due to Mick Jagger illness

The Rolling Stones have been forced into pulling an upcoming gig after singer Mick Jagger developed a throat infection.

The veteran group were due to perform at Hanging Rock near Melbourne on Saturday (November 8).

However, the date has been cancelled, with no word of a rescheduled gig.

Promoter Frontier said in a statement: "The Rolling Stones are incredibly disappointed  to cancel the Hanging Rock gig and to disappoint their fans but were left with no other option."

Jagger has been ordered to rest to allow his voice to recover.

The Rolling Stones' next concert is scheduled to take place in Sydney on November 12.
