5 Seconds Of Summer band members talk about the songs that changed their lives

Australian pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer have opened up about the songs that changed their lives in a new interview with Shazam.

Guitarist Michael Clifford explained that he first took an active interest in lyrics after hearing one of All Time Low's songs: "One of the songs that has changed my life is 'Lullabies' by All Time Low. It really got me into lyrical writing, if that makes sense. It's one of my favourite songs."

Luke Hemmings said: "The song that changed my life is... I think it's 'Little Things' by Good Charlotte. It's one of the first songs I heard by them and I was really obsessed with them. It's just a straight-up pop-punk song." Calum Hood credited Green Day with helping him to get into songwriting: "It is called 'Jesus of Suburbia' by Green Day and it pretty much got me into songwriting and made me fall in love with music... so that's why."

Ashton Irwin explained that there's one music video that changed his life: "Something that made me realise the importance of putting visual and music together was 'The Black Parade' by My Chemical Romance. People working together to convey a message with a song and video... I reall enjoy music videos."

The heartthrobs then decided on one track collectively, adding: "As a band, we're going for 'I Miss You' by Blink-182. It's the first song we recorded together in a studio so it's very important to us."
