Mary J. Blige on Sam Smith: 'He’s so honest and so genuine'

Hitmaker Mary J. Blige has been working on her new album 'The London Sessions' with 'Stay With Me' sensation Sam Smith and she revealed that he was incredibly professional and passionate about the project.

During a new interview with On Air with Ryan earlier today (November 18), the songstress explained that she was impressed by how down-to-earth and genuine Smith is given his fast rise to success:

"He’s so honest and so genuine. He’s a beautiful person. I don’t say it unless it’s real. I don’t care about being Hollywood friends and all that. If I like you, I like you. If we’re friends, we’re friends. And I believe I have a friend in Sam cause we got to know each other. He’s just a beautiful, down-to-earth professional. He’s where he is right now because he deserves to be. He earned it. And he has that voice. He’s cool with just being just Sam.”

Blige's 'The London Sessions' is due to be officially released on December 2 and you can pre-order it on iTunes now. She also worked with electronic duo Disclosure on the record.
