Joni Mitchell on proposed biopic starring Taylor Swift: 'I squelched that'

'Both Sides Now' sensation Joni Mitchell has revealed that she has rejected plans for a biopic about her life and career, in which country-pop superstar Taylor Swift was lined up to play her.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, the icon admitted that she put an end to the project before it could even become a reality:

"I squelched that! I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones'. It's just a lot of gossip, you don't have the great scenes. There's a lot of nonsense about me in books - assumptions, assumptions, assumptions."

Back in 2012, Swift confessed to Spin magazine that she would be 'stoked' to play Joni Mitchell in the proposed biopic although she was unsure of the future and if the film would end up getting made:

"The whole thing with the movie is really unconfirmed, because I'm not even sure if the project is green-lit. It's one of those things where you just never know. But if it were to happen, I would be so, so stoked about playing 'A Case of You.'"
