Union J's George Shelley on his soldier brother: 'I have so much respect for him'

Heartthrob George Shelley, of Union J fame, has opened up about the respect and admiration he has for his brother Will, who is a serving soldier in Afghanistan.

His sibling works in the bomb disposal section of the armed forces and Shelley told Britain's Daily Star newspaper, for its Hometown Heroes campaign, that he could never do what his brother does and looks up to him for showing such immense bravery and courage every day:

"We didn’t know when he’d be back. It could have been six months or a year. I did get nervous about what could happen to him. It would eat you up if you thought too much about it. I missed him so much. I could only contact him very rarely. All we had was an address to send him letters, so it was like he disappeared for six months."

The 'Tonight (We Live Forever)' hitmaker went onto add that he and his family will be reunited with Will over Christmas: “My little sister Harriet still lives with him when he’s home and he’s a massive part of her life so she really missed him. But we all supported each other. I have so much respect for what my brother does. I could never imagine doing what he does.”
