Jordin Sparks explains Jason Derulo diss song: 'I knew it would get crazy, but my fans need to hear it'

Songstress Jordin Sparks has revealed that her new music is very personal and while she is anxious about the reactions it might get, she thinks it's important to be honest about where she's at in her life with her fans.

The beauty split from boyfriend of three years, Jason Derulo, in the autumn and she will release a remix of Drake's 'How Bout Now', which includes the lyrics 'You really f**ked with me way back when, but how about now?/'Cause I'm up right now and you suck right now'.

Speaking to E! News about the track, Sparks confessed that it deals with her feelings on the separation

"Every day was different and every day something new came out [during writing and recording sessions], and that day I was having one of those days where I was like, 'I'm just going to do it and I want my fans to hear this side of me. They need to hear it.' My fans wanted to hear something but at the same time it wasn't really planned and I just went into the studio and whatever came out, came out."

She went onto add: "I knew it was going to get crazy... I was nervous to put it out there because no one had ever heard me like this before."
