Louis Tomlinson misses out on attending NRJ Awards with One Direction

Last night saw One Direction appearing at France’s NRJ Awards as a quartet due Louis Tomlinson being too ill to attend.

Louis made it known yesterday afternoon (December 13) that he would not be able to make it to the ceremony being held in Cannes.

Tomlinson tweeted: “Been sick all night. Still really unwell. Absolutely gutted!!. So sorry to let our fans down at NRJ. :( sorry :( hope the lads smash it”.

22-year-old Tomlinson’s no-show comes less than a month after his fellow band mate Zayn Malik pulled out of a televised appearance on The Today Show.

The boys who did make it to the event – Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan – picked up the award for International Duo/Group Of The Year.

One Direction also had to perform without Louis during the show and the foursome gave a rendition of ‘Steal My Girl’ (see video below).

One Direction are also due to perform on the final of The X Factor UK tonight (December 14) where they will be singing ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ from their album ‘Four’.
