Ryan Seacrest praises Adam Lambert's 'American Idol' judging skills: 'He has real experience to share'

Well-loved presenter, DJ and 'American Idol' host Ryan Seacrest has congratulated former runner-up Adam Lambert on doing such a fantastic job as a stand-in judge on the vocal talent show

The Hollywood Reporter quotes Seacrest as explaining that former contestants are ideal for the panel because they have been through that experience first-hand so have genuine advice and insight to share:

"Now that we've been on (air) for such a long time, you've got mentors in these 'Idols' and they come back with some real experience to talk about."

Referring to Lambert's recent temporary addition to the judging panel, which came about after Keith Urban had to take leave following the death of his wife Nicole Kidman's father, he added: "Adam stepped up when Keith couldn't be there, and Adam did a great job."

Country star Urban has also praised Lambert's ability to judge and support successfully, and he told Billboard that he was very impressed with how the vocal powerhouse handled the tough role:

“Adam Lambert stepped up and filled in for me. It was an amazing thing to see that support. I am very grateful, and I don’t take those things for granted. You would think people would have a heart. When I saw it in action with all of the network at FOX and all of the people involved with Idol, and then of course my fan base, it was an extraordinary thing.”
