Charli XCX and Clean Bandit to play London MTV shows

Charli XCX and Clean Bandit have been announced to play MTV gigs in London next year.

The two acts will help to promote the network's Brand New prize with concerts at the city's Islington Assembly Hall in January.

Charli XCX will headline the venue on January 28 with James Bay and Sinead Harnett - who are nominated for the MTV Brand New award - as support.

Clean Bandit will then play the same venue a day later with nominees Years & Years and Saint Raymond in tow.

The 2015 MTV Brand New award - which also sees the likes of George the Poet and Krept & Konan nominated - will be announced on January 30.

Singer XCX commented: "MTV have been so supportive of me, I was super excited to be a part of MTV Brand New back in 2012 when I was just starting out, so to perform at the January showcase is a really nice feeling for me.

"It's really important to champion new music and new artists early on, so I think it's great that MTV Brand New can act as a platform for such incredible talent."
