Pink Floyd and Arctic Monkeys help UK vinyl sales reach 1.3m

Sales of vinyl albums in the UK last year was the highest in the country since 1995.

Industry body BPI revealed that sales of records in 2014 reached 1.3 million.

The best-selling vinyl album of last year was Pink Floyd's 'The Endless River'.

It was followed by Arctic Monkeys' 2013 effort 'AM' and Royal Blood's self-titled debut.

The last year's vinyl sales - the best in the UK since 1995 - accounted for 2% of the country's music sales.

CD sales dropped 7.9% from the previous year to 55.7 million.
