George The Poet comes fifth in BBC Sound of 2015 list

George The Poet has landed in fifth place on BBC's Sound of 2015 list.

The broadcaster have begun counting down their top tips of British music acts who will make it big this year.

Today (January 5) the BBC confirmed that George The Poet is No.5 on their rundown.

He commented: "Being in the top five is such a big pat on the back. It's like...I'm on track."

Speaking meanwhile about his sound, George The Poet added:

"It's all about talking to people in the most creative way possible. My EP, 'The Chicken and the Egg', is about premature parenthood. Discussing that helps.

"I learnt that making the words rhyme isn't necessarily the same as making the words matter."

Acts in contention to win the the Sound of 2015 prize includes James Bay, Kwabs and Wolf Alice.
