The Vamps' James McVey to have surgery: 'Nervous doesn't even describe how I feel about it'

Guitarist James McVey, of The Vamps fame, has revealed that he will undergo surgery later today to fix a painful wrist problem.

Writing on his official Twitter page last night (January 4), the heartthrob explained that he is finally going under the knife in order to get rid of the pesky injury, which involves the tendons in his wrist, and he is incredibly anxious about the operation:

"Having surgery on my wrist tendons tomorrow. Nervous doesn't even describe how I feel about it. Hope it works. More info soon x."

On December 12, the star shared a tweet (pictured below) about fans rushing to meet him at events and asked that they respect his personal space because his wrist really hurts and the pain can be made worse in certain situations.

At the end of December, McVey thanked his followers and fans around the world for such an amazing year and posted about it on Instagram: "This past 12 months has quite honestly been the best year of my life. Last December I remember thinking to myself, 'I wonder where I'll be this time next year'... I never in my wildest dreams imagined that 2014 would be as incredible as this. You guys got our debut album to number 2, got us 3/3 teen awards, sold out our first headline tour, and even managed to sell out the O2 arena in 15 minutes. Even now whilst typing this that doesn't feel real to me!"
