Adam Lambert and Queen cover Classic Rock magazine: 'Lambert is a gift from god'

Queen and Adam Lambert are currently gracing the cover of the new issue of Classic Rock magazine after their momentous New Year's Eve concert, which wowed 13.5 million people during the live BBC One broadcast.

In the cover shoot's accompanying interview, the vocal powerhouse told the magazine that he knows he will never replace the late Freddie Mercury because no one will ever fill the legend's shoes:

"There’s never going to be another, and I’m not replacing him. That’s not what I’m doing. I’m trying to keep the memory alive, and remind people how amazing he was, without imitating him. I’m trying to share with the audience how much he inspired me."

Existing member and guitar icon Brian May went on to praise Lambert, describing him as more than capable of performing Queen's songs effortlessly and flawlessly: “Adam is the first person we’ve encountered who can do all the Queen catalogue without blinking. He is a gift from god."

The new issue of Classic Rock is out now and the full cover, which boasts the tagline 'Queen + Adam Lambert - the unexpected afterlife of rock's royalty', can be seen below.
