Kendrick Lamar defends Iggy Azalea: 'Let her do her thing'

Hitmaker Kendrick Lamar is the latest person to speak out in support of Iggy Azalea amid the cultural appropriation in hip-hop debate and he revealed that she has as much of a place in the genre as any other rapper.

During an interview with Billboard magazine, the 'Poetic Justice' star explained that people should be more supportive of Azalea and encourage her talents rather than trying to rip her down:

"She’s doing her thing. Let her. People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here.”

Lupe Fiasco also shared a tweet about the 'Fancy' beauty on December 20 and wrote: "Iggy has a place in hip-hop... her place."

Azalea, meanwhile, recently won the People's Choice Awards for Favourite Hip-Hop Artist and beat the likes of Jay Z, Drake and Nicki Minaj to the coveted title.
