Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk' secures fourth week at No. 1

'Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars is now entering its fourth non-consecutive week at the top of the UK singles chart.

Ronson and Mars have maintained their grip over the chart since the inception of 2015 but ‘Uptown Funk’ originally debuted at No. 1 on December 14 for one week.

This week the pair managed a sales total of 130,000 and last week set a new streaming record with 2.56 million plays over a seven day period.

Further non-movers in the top five come from Philip George with ‘Wish You Were Mine’ at No. 2 and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ at No. 3. ‘Up’ by Olly Murs and Demi Lovato climbs two places to No. 4, and Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’ completes the top five having moved up five places to No. 5.

New entries to this week’s chart come from Tchami feauring Kaleem Taylor with ‘Promesses’ at No. 7 and Echosmith have made their top 40 debut with ‘Cool Kids’ at No. 39.

Significant climbers include Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s ‘Only One’ moving from No. 35 to No. 28, Beyonce’s ‘7/11’ re-entering the chart at No. 33 and James Bay’s ‘Hold Back The River’ moving up 44 places to No. 36.
