John Legend wins Best Original Song Golden Globe

John Legend picked up this year's Best Original Song prize at the Golden Globes.

The entertainment awards ceremony was held last night (January 11) in California.

Prince was on hand to present Legend and Common with the Best Original Song gong for their track 'Glory' from the film Selma.

Legend said: "I'm so honoured to be a part of this amazing film. We're so grateful to write this song."

Common added: "I want to thank God and the Hollywood Foreign Press.

"I am the hopeful black woman who was denied the right to vote. I am the caring white supporter. I am the unarmed black kid, who maybe needed a hand, but instead of was given a bullet. Selma has awakened my humanity."

Other big winners on the night included Boyhood, which bagged Best Motion Picture - Drama, and Eddie Redmayne, who reigned in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama section.
