Fall Out Boy: '10 years ago a leak was deadly for an album'

Rockers Fall Out Boy have leaked their new album, entitled 'American Beauty/American Psycho' , after a poor quality version made its way online earlier this month.

Pete Wentz explained to EntertainmentWise that after the album leaked, the band were compelled to share the finished version so that fans could hear the songs as they were intended to be heard:

"They leaked it [the album] and it was really terrible quality, so we were like 'ok, let's leak it ourselves'. I think it makes sense - if people like the record then it'll help it, but you couldn't have done that 10 years ago. 10 years ago a leak was deadly for a record."

The boys also confirmed details of a full UK headlining tour today (January 14) and the list of dates can be seen below:

  • Saturday October 3 – Leeds, First Direct Arena
  • Sunday October 4 – Aberdeen, AECC GE Oil & Gas Arena
  • Tuesday October 6 – Birmingham, Barclaycard Arena
  • Wednesday October 7 – Cardiff, Motorpoint Arena
  • Friday October 9 – Manchester, Arena
  • Saturday October 10 – Bournemouth, International Centre
  • Sunday October 11 – London, The SSE Arena Wembley
