Adam Lambert on his upcoming album: 'It feels like a new era for me'

Adam Lambert is preparing his fans for a new phase of his career with the release of his latest album later this year.

The 'American Idol' star spoke to Billboard about how his upcoming record represents a change in direction for him.

Lambert explained: "I think people are going to be really surprised. The album feels like a new era for me - emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh."

The 'Tresspassing' star signed a new record deal with Warner Bros. earlier this week and revealed that Max Martin will be at the helm of his third studio LP.

The 32-year-old singer who is currently fronting Queen revealed that his time spent with the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' band has influenced his new music.

Adam stated: "Being on the road with a British rock band, and being in London a lot this year... I think that has affected my sound and where we are headed with it."

He added: "Europe is very ahead of the curve... and I was definitely influenced by that."
