Ellie Goulding has admitted that she is dumbfounded by Jessie J's Brit Awards snub.

The singer-songwriter doesn't feature in the nominations for this year's awards ceremony, which is taking place in the U.K. at London's O2 Arena on February 25.

Goulding, who is not eligible for this year's awards, told Capital FM about her surprise at the lack of Jessie J - who released the album Sweet Talker last year - in the nominations.

She said: "I was surprised by that because she's an incredible pop star. 

"It sounds weird saying that, but she is. She nails it and she still has one of the most incredible voices in the world. So that shocked me. But I don't know how the voting works!"

Goulding won the British Female Solo Artist prize at last year's Brits.

Jessie J's only Brits win came in 2011 when she bagged the Critics' Choice gong.
